The comparison table on this page sets the three side by side. Pharmacies can change their hours at short notice and NHS profiles are only as current as the "last confirmed" date, so for anything urgent, ring ahead.
Which is open latest, and on Sunday
On weekday evenings, Swan Pharmacy's listed 9pm close is the latest of the three. On Saturday it is also the latest, at 9pm. On Sunday, Boots is the only one of the three listing opening hours (10am to 4pm); Day Lewis and Swan both show Sunday as closed. Liss and Liphook have their own pharmacies in the NHS results, but those are outside Petersfield and we have not checked their hours for this guide.
Pharmacy First: treatment without a GP appointment
The NHS says most pharmacies can offer prescription medicine for some conditions without you needing to see a GP or make an appointment. This is called Pharmacy First. The conditions and age ranges on the NHS page are impetigo (aged 1 and over), infected insect bites (1 and over), earache (1 to 17), sore throat (5 and over), sinusitis (12 and over), urinary tract infections in women aged 16 to 64, and shingles (18 and over). Pharmacists can still give advice outside those age ranges. The NHS adds: "contact them before visiting to check", so ring your pharmacy first.
Finding an open pharmacy on bank holidays and evenings
We found no NHS page that lists Petersfield pharmacy hours for specific bank holidays, so do not assume the normal timetable applies. The NHS pharmacy search lets you filter results by opening times, and each result shows that day's hours with a phone number. Search for Petersfield on find a pharmacy, check the hours shown and phone the one you choose.
If you cannot find an open pharmacy, NHS 111 can direct you to the right service, and 111 online can request a limited emergency supply of a regular prescribed medicine from a local pharmacy. The NHS says the 111 callback service "is usually busier at weekends and on bank holidays".
