Alton to Southampton Cruise Terminal: Cruise Taxi and Transfer Firms

Alton cruise passengers have a cross-country run to the docks. Here are the firms that say they cover the town for cruise transfers, and what to agree.

TwentyFour7Cars (Sponsored member, 07961 609455) lists Alton as a common pick-up for its Southampton cruise transfers and arranges returns after the voyage. Alton-based and Hampshire firms that also name Alton for cruise runs are listed below. Give the firm your terminal and allocated arrival time.

Who covers Alton

TwentyFour7Cars names Alton on its seaport and cruise page as a common pick-up location. It says it runs around the clock and helps with loading and unloading luggage. Other firms whose own websites name Alton and say they do cruise or seaport runs: Olly's Airport Cars, Hampshire Taxi, Go2 Airport Transfers and Private Hire and Alton 8's. Compare before you book.

No direct train

Alton's line runs to London Waterloo, not the coast, so the docks by rail means changes with heavy bags. A car to the terminal door is the usual choice.

What to tell the firm

Your address, the terminal on your cruise documents, your allocated arrival time, how many are travelling and how many cases. Ask whether the price is fixed and whether a deposit applies; TwentyFour7Cars says one may apply to some long-distance bookings.

Drop-off

ABP, which runs the port, says private taxis can drop off directly outside each cruise terminal. The bag drop is outside the terminal, so cases go straight from the car.

Coming back

Book the return when you book the outward trip, and agree how you will make contact on the day you dock.
